Hello! Nice to meet you.

Hi, I'm Ashley.

I’m a lawyer and a mediator. I want to help you solve your legal problems.

I'm a big fan of logic. That means that I'm going to try to find a logical solution for whatever your legal issues are.

Law can be complicated. I like to find simple and practical ways to help people solve their problems. That means I will take the time to learn about you or your business, and figure out what I can do to best help you and your unique situation. Sometimes, that means thinking outside the box to find creative solutions, and sometimes, that means going all the way to trial. Either way, I can help.

I am a litigator. That means I go to court for my clients. I know that court is mostly only fun for the lawyers, not the clients. That's why, whenever I can, I try to find solutions and resolutions that will keep my clients out of court.

I am also a mediator. That means I help parties with conflicts resolve their issues in a collaborative way. I think taking ownership of a settlement and being a part of it is something that helps all parties to a dispute move forward. I hold an RRM designation in mediation from Mediate BC and a Certified Mediator (C. Med.) designation from the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Canada (ADRIC), which means I have and continue to meet strict training and education standards as a mediator.

Being a part of my community is important to me. I have been involved in the Canadian Bar Association's BC branch, in its Civil Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections. I am also on the Women Lawyers' Committee of the Trial Lawyers Association of BC. I am listed as a mediator on the Civil Roster of Mediate BC and am also a member of its Board. I also volunteer my time with great organizations like Access Pro Bono, and take the time to mentor new lawyers and mediators whenever I get the chance.

I am also the founder of the only lawyer incubator in Canada (that I know of), where I provide mentoring and support to lawyers starting their own solo practices. For more information, check out The Lawyer Incubator.

Outside of law, I enjoy theatre, travel, cooking, wine, photography, writing, skiing, and everything this great province of ours has to offer.
